Wombly

Wombly privacy policy

Effective 1 November 2026

Wombly is made by Daniil Sitdikov (Nothing Fancy). This page explains what the app collects and why.

In short

No account, no ads, no tracking across apps or websites. Wombly sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports so I can see which sounds and features people use and fix what breaks. It never asks for your name, email, contacts, location, photos or microphone.

What Wombly sends

  • A random ID the app creates when you first open it. It isn’t your Apple ID, name, email or advertising identifier.
  • How you use the app: which sound you pick, the timer length, when sound starts, pauses and resumes, and when the app is installed, opened or closed.
  • Crash and error reports.
  • Device model, iOS version, app version, language and time zone.

Like any request over the internet, these reach PostHog from your IP address. Wombly asks PostHog not to use it to estimate your location, and PostHog discards it instead of storing it.

Who handles it

Analytics are processed by PostHog, Inc. on servers in the European Union. See PostHog’s privacy policy.

What it’s used for

Only to understand which sounds and features are used and to fix bugs. Never for advertising. The data isn’t tied to your name, Apple ID or any account, and I don’t try to find out who you are. It isn’t sold, isn’t shared with data brokers and isn’t combined with data from other apps or websites.

What stays on your device

Your sound, volume, timer and other settings are stored on your iPhone and shared only with Wombly’s widgets and Apple Watch app. Siri requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.

Children

Wombly is made for parents and caregivers. It doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

Keeping and deleting data

Usage data is kept only as long as it’s useful for the purposes above. Deleting the app stops all collection. If you’re in the EU or UK, the legal basis is my legitimate interest in improving the app, and you can ask for access to or deletion of your data, object to its use, or complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
